 | | Kamilah, Sue, Alexandra and Choua | On February 19 this year, members of our 6th grade classes served as VJ’s (video jockeys) and presenters for the 2009 Megaconference Jr., an international video conference for students. There were 156 schools | | VJ's in Action - Kamilah, Sue and Alexandra - Chua on the cue cards | from around the world watching or participating via video conferencing representing 13 different countries.
Our VJ's were 1 of 10 groups selected to introduce the various school presentations from around the country.
This years Megaconference Jr. theme was "Hope and Change, Friends around the World" | | Mega Conference Jr. 2009 VJ Teams | and serving our global community. During the video conference, our students operated all of the technology, and filled the time by sharing the community service projects of Weaver Lake Students. They did a fabulous job of making introductions, being MC’s, using cue cards, rotating positions, and answering questions. We are very | | Megaconference Jr. 2009 Logo | proud of all of our Weaver Lake students!
Many thanks to Weaver’s community partner, Cummins Power Generation of Fridley, MN for their generous gift of our video conferencing equipment. Cummins Power Generation is a world leader in the design and manufacturing of power generation equipment.
