Science News for Kids is a Web site devoted to science news for children of ages 9 to 14.  The goal is to offer timely items of interest to kids, accompanied by suggestions for hands-on activities, books, articles, Web resources, and other useful materials.  http://www.sciencenewsforkids.org/

Molecule of the Month page! Each month a new molecule will be added to the list on this page. The links will take you to a page at one of the Web sites at a University Chemistry Department or commercial site in the UK, the US, or anywhere in the world, where useful (and hopefully entertaining!), information can be found about a particularly interesting molecule. http://www.chm.bris.ac.uk/motm/motm.htm

NASA Kids Club. The NASA website for kids, full of great ideas and activities: http://www.nasa.gov/audience/forkids/kidsclub/flash/index.html

The One-Inch Square Project from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute encourages parents to nurture students' investigative skills at home. The project is simple, nearly cost-free, and can be repeated again and again in varied situations. http://www.hhmi.org/coolscience/forkids/inchsquare/

Raising Butterflies Online: Encourage families to complete this 30-day program, which teaches children about the life cycle of a monarch butterfly in a brand new way. Kids simply complete the online form and then wait to receive an e-mail update every few days. A link in each personalized e-mail enables the student to watch the entire process unfold.
