At Weaver Lake Elementary School we strive to support student learning with advanced technologies and easy access to technology throughout the school day. We are a wireless school, which means we can access the internet and the network from anywhere in our building. We have mobile laptop carts that are used in classrooms on a regular basis in addition to our stationary computer labs. Each classroom is equipped with a presentation cart which includes a laptop, projector, document camera, wireless keyboard and mouse, digital camera and speaker for presentations and teaching.
We have Smart Boards in the computer lab, the music
room and will finish installing them in all of our classrooms this year. All of our classrooms have access to digital proscopes and the use of temperature probes.
Each grade level has a web page and many of our student projects will be posted there. We have a TV studio on an internal channel for our student produced news broadcast and a podcast station called, Radio on the Edge also produced by students each month.
Our ELL program was awarded ipod nanos and voice recorders for enhancing literacy skills, creating audio tours and publishing podcasts. Our 6th grade students were
awarded classroom digital cameras and tripods for developing digital photography skills.
Students at Weaver Lake are exposed to a variety of technology tools to assist them in accessing, processing and communicating information. See what's going on right now with student technology projects at Weaver Lake.
