Weaver Lake PTA

What is PTA at Weaver Lake Elementary School?

PTA (Parent Teacher Association) is an organization made up of parents and teachers who get together to discuss ways to improve the educational experiences of our children.

The PTA supports the following things at Weaver Lake.  In some cases these events/roles/items would not exist if not for the support of the PTA.

  • Science Museum of Mn Residencies
  • Art Adventure program
  • Student Directory
  • Volunteer Coordinator and other para-professional salaries
  • Technology purchases
  • D.A.R.E. education
  • Books for the media center
  • Sixth grade graduation
  • Classroom supplies
  • and much more!

What are the benefits of being an active PTA member?

·        Get connected! Find out what is happening at Weaver Lake Elementary and throughout District 279.

·        Meet other parents and staff members! Help build a school community.

·        Exchange ideas! We want to hear your ideas and opinions about how we can make Weaver Lake Elementary a great place for our children.

·        Be a role model!  Show your child that you value education.  Research demonstrates:  “When parents are involved in their children’s education at home they do better in school.  And when parents are involved in school, children go farther in school and the schools they go to are better.”
