The Maple Grove Rotary Club honored Dr. Kate Maguire, superintendent of Osseo Area Schools, with the 2017 Business Ethics and Leadership Award at its annual gala on Nov. 18. The award recognizes Superintendent Maguire’s commitment to ethical business practices and her strong leadership skills.
Since becoming superintendent in 2010, Dr. Maguire has led Osseo Area Schools in its work to ensure equitable student achievement for every student, with a particular focus on eliminating disparities that are predictable by race. Her commitment to ethical business practices and responsible stewardship of public dollars has contributed to the district’s award-winning budgeting and financial planning practices. Knowing that trusting relationships are a critical contributing factor to effective schools, Superintendent Maguire encourages her staff to build positive relationships with students, staff, families and community members.
Additionally, Superintendent Maguire received a Rotary International Paul Harris Fellow, which recognizes an individual who has made substantial contributions to humanitarianism and educational service and demonstrates the Rotary International Foundation objectives. With this award, $1,000 was donated in her name to the Rotary International Foundation to benefit people around the world.
